Classic Links

A fascinating and sad post about the auction of Debbie Reynolds’ amazing costume collection. It includes Marilyn Monroe’s famous white dress and the jockey kit Elizabeth Taylor wore in International Velvet. Lots of great pics of the costumes-- Java's Journey

It’s always great to see a new post from this blog. This one is about some of the musical standards that were born in early talkies-- All Talking! All Singing! All Dancing

Greta Garbo and Ingmar Bergman will be featured on an upcoming run of Swedish currency. Wouldn’t it be great to live in a country where your cash had pics of classic stars?-- IMDB

  1. Thanks for the links, KC. Only one thing, I think it's director Ingmar Bergman who will be on the new Swedish bills.

  3. Thanks for the link, KC. I wondered about the surge in traffic on that post.

About the TO CATCH A THIEF remake, I'm sure it will be an exciting film. I just wish they wouldn't use this title.

The author states that the movie will be "more modern and ‘gadgety,’" and will include "a lot of heists and action sequences."

In short, it will be just like every other action film out there these days. I'll bet the plot will take a back seat to the shooting and car crashes.

  4. That was a fascinating post Java. I'm glad you picked up some extra traffic.

I don't have high hopes for a To Catch a Thief remake. It sounds like the typical remake: they may manage to get some of the words right, but they won't get the music (figuratively speaking--lol). It's a shame, because there are so many great new stories out there still to be told.
