Classic Links

Though I didn’t know much about her yesterday, I love Diana Dors now. If you watch the movie linked in this post, you might find you do too (if you don’t already). There are also many other Dors titles on YT. I plan to watch them all! The Siren writes a fascinating review, as always— Self-Styled Siren

Laura wrote a lot of great movie reviews last year. She’d got them all linked here. I plan to use this as a resource for finding new things to watch— Laura's Miscellaneous Musings

I didn’t know Hedy Lamarr inspired the Cat Woman character. Really?— IMDB

I’ll bet this item made a lot of people go “oh yeah, Jean Paul Belmondo. I love him!” I know at least one person did— IMDB

  1. Thank you so much for the link, KC, I appreciate it very much. I hope you find some great movie ideas among the links to my viewing last year! :)

Wasn't that Diana Dors post interesting? I sure learned a lot.

    Best wishes,

  2. Wow, I have a lot more respect for Hathaway having read her comments. Good for her! Love what she says about Lamarr. I mean, I did have respect for Hathaway before, it's just I was skeptical because she strikes me as sort of too..."good girl" and "upright" to play Catwoman. Then again, most people considered Heath Ledger too "Dreamboat" to play Joker, and, well. There you go.

  3. Ha--two Lauras! That's a first.

Laura Misc-- I picked up a few good recommendations from you last year, but I couldn't keep up! So I am very glad to have that list. I'd heard Dors was an interesting character. It is nice that The Siren did the legwork for me, because I don't know when I would have gotten around to learning about her otherwise.

Laura ToW-- I've never been fond of Hathaway's bouncy drama geek persona, but I've also always had a lot of respect for her. She seems almost too bright to be in Hollywood sometimes. Don't get me started on typecasting. It's so silly to pigeonhole anyone that way, but especially actors! I mean, they play different people for a living! Of course, I know there are some actors who really can't play more than one type.
