Criss Cross (1949): "this is as good a movie about stupid people as one will ever find"-- Laura's Miscellaneous Musings

If I had to describe what I love about Kay Thompson (Funny Face, Eloise author) in one word, it would be confidence. It turns out, she went a bit far with that, and it caused her some heartbreak. This is a fantastic post-- Movie Star Makeover

100 Ideas That Changed Film sounds like an amazing book. I've got so much stuff to read, but I don't think I'm going to be able to resist this one-- Brain Pickings

Check out the Leading Man Tournament. It's always fun to see who people pick in these polls-- Journeys in Classic Film

  2. I don't mean to overshadow the rest of your review, because I loved it, but the way you slipped that line in there did crack me up.

I've never given Kay Thompson much thought, so I was (a little) surprised to hear that she was such a challenging person. I feel for her though.
