She seemed more human to me, though the icon glow is still there. I never considered how much it said about her determination that she stuck with acting so long before breaking through. I've read (and own) dozens ...Excellent review. I've read (and own) dozens of Monroe biographies, and this one doesn't seem to reveal much that wasn't already known, although maybe with more detail. While MM was hardly the only female star to have to claw (or whatever) her way to the top, she did so at a later age, and in a late 40s, early 50s Hollywood that was WAY more conservative than "pre-code" Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
