I like von Sternberg. I think he was softer than he let on. He certainly had a weak spot for Dietrich. I didn't know that about his house. I wonder if that's the fancy one he had designed? If so, I could see that being the inspiration for Rand's novel.
I had to google von Sterberg after seeing that quote. Interesting guy, although, he looks rather von stern.
ReplyDeleteI also found it interesting that Ayn Rand bought his house, that may have been the model used in 'The Fountainhead,' one of my favorite novels.
